Week 15 (April 28-30)
Continuing to discuss revision techniques, critically looking at verb tense usage, peer editing, submitting final draft of research paper Homework: Due Wednesday, 4/30 1. Review for final exam, come with any questions you have about the study guide 2. RESEARCH PAPER DUE AT 9:00AM. ABSOLUTELY NO LATE WORK WILL BE ACCEPTED Week 14 (April 21-25)
Continuing to discuss revision methods, tips for proofreading and editing, revising research paper drafts Homework: Due Friday 4/25 1. Continue to edit your research paper - pay attention to the techniques we have discussed in class Due Wednesday 4/23 1. Read Chapter 12 in Eby's Writing a Great Research Paper 2. Continue to edit your paper - reading critically for your use of guiding language and lexical chains Week 13 (April 14-18)
Working with introductions & conclusions, second draft due, continuing to edit for cohesion Homework: Due Monday 4/21 1. Read Chapter 12 in Eby's Writing a Great Research Paper 2. Continue to edit your paper - don't leave your revisions until the last minute! Due Friday 4/18 1. Take your Peer Editing sheet that your classmate gave you & look over it 2. Make any necessary revisions or start working on the suggestions you were given Due Wednesday 4/16 1. Finish editing First Draft 2. Submit 2nd Draft by 9am Wednesday Morning to Western Online. 3. Bring to class: 2 Printed Copies of your 2nd Draft. Week 12 (April 7-11)

Integrating sources, writing the body of the paper, first draft due Homework: Due Monday 4/7 1. Look over your first draft, start making corrections based on what we discussed today. Come prepared to keep editing and refining your paper. 2. If you do not have the required 5 sources, keep researching. Do not leave this until the last minute. Due Friday 2/4 1. Keep reading & taking notes for your research paper 2. Read Eby Chapter 5 - Organizing & Outlining (please look at the Guided Questions for this chapter when reading) 3. Come prepared to work on creating a thesis statement for your paper on Monday Due Friday, 3/21 1. Finish your section from the Women in Parliament Analysis. Be ready to discuss it with your group & turn it in. 2. Come to class prepared to discuss the other sections of the Women in Parliament paper. 3. KEEP READING FOR YOUR RESEARCH PAPER! Due Wednesday 3/19 1. Read Women in Parliament sample & look up any words you do not know; Make notes in the margin about structure & Come prepared to answer questions & discuss the paper 2. First draft of summary assignment, locating sources, introduction to evaluating sources Homework: Due Monday 2/24 (1) Finish revising your summary and submit it to the Summary Final Draft Dropbox on WesternOnline. (2) Think about how the Time article you read for your summary relates to the information in Chapter 4. Summarizing Homework Due Monday 2/17 Make one page of notes to use as a reference while writing your in-class summary. You may bring this page of notes along with the article to write the summary. Don't forget about formatting, title page, and reference page. Due Friday 2/14 Read the article. Be prepared to create a graphic organizer or summary grid and discuss it in class. You will use the graphic organizer or summary grid to write your in-class summary on Monday, February 17th. Week 4 (February 3-7)
