Read the article above. Be prepared to create a graphic organizer or summary grid and discuss it in class. You will use the graphic organizer or summary grid to write your in-class summary on Monday, February 17th.

Friday's Materials & Homework
We will use class time for you to discuss the article with a partner, and start mapping your ideas for the summary. You will be required to write the first draft of your summary in class on Monday. I will not be here on Monday, but you will have two other WESL instructors there to proctor. You will be allowed to bring a copy of the article & one page of notes. These notes can be a map, an outline, a graphic organizer, or a summary grid. You will not be allowed to have full sentences on the notes, just some key words and phrases that will help you organize your summary. You will upload the summary to the dropbox on Western Online at the end of class on Monday.

Make one page of notes to use as a reference while writing your in-class summary. You may bring this page of notes along with the article to write the summary. Don't forget about formatting, title page, and reference page.
